Terms of service
Last updated: 10 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Postboi — the service at postboi.email, the dashboard, the sending API, and hosted form endpoints — operated from the United Kingdom ("Postboi", "we"). By creating an account or sending mail through the service you agree to them. Postboi is currently pre-release; expect rough edges, and expect these terms to evolve with the product.
The service
Postboi sends email on your behalf: transactional and application email through the API, and
form submissions through hosted form endpoints. Free accounts send from a shared address on send.postboi.email; verified custom domains unlock sending from your own addresses. We meter usage against your
plan's included volume.
Your account
- You must provide a working email address — it's how you sign in and how we reach you.
- Keep your API keys secret. Anything sent with your key counts as sent by you.
- You're responsible for people you invite to your team.
- One person or company may hold multiple projects; creating accounts to dodge limits or suspensions isn't allowed.
Acceptable use
Email is a shared-reputation system — one bad sender hurts everyone's deliverability. So this section has teeth:
- Consent is required. Only email people who have asked to hear from you or whom you may lawfully contact. No purchased, rented or scraped lists. Ever.
- No spam, no abuse. No unsolicited bulk mail, phishing, malware, deceptive senders or subject lines, or content that's illegal in the UK or in your recipients' countries. You must comply with the laws that apply to your sending (UK GDPR and PECR, EU GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL, and friends).
- Honour opt-outs. Marketing and list mail must carry working unsubscribe links (we add RFC 8058 headers for you). Suppressed addresses stay suppressed.
- Form endpoints receive, they don't broadcast. Hosted forms exist to deliver messages from your site's visitors to you — not to relay mail to third parties.
We monitor bounce and complaint rates per account. Sending that threatens the platform's reputation is paused automatically — that's the kill-switch, and it's not optional. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section, without notice where the abuse is active. If you think we got it wrong, email support@postboi.email and a human will look.
Quotas and fair use
Free accounts have hard monthly and daily caps. Paid plans include a monthly volume, with overage metered and billed per thousand emails. Limits, plan shapes and prices may change; we'll flag material changes in advance for existing subscribers.
Billing
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.
- Plans bill monthly in advance; overage bills in arrears on the same invoice cycle.
- You can cancel any time from the billing portal — your plan runs to the end of the paid period, then drops to Free.
- Prices are in GBP and, where applicable, exclusive of VAT.
- If something's gone wrong — double-charged, billed after cancelling — tell us and we'll put it right. Beyond that, fees already incurred aren't refundable.
Your content and data
You keep all rights to the content you send. You grant us only what we need to operate the service: processing, transmitting and logging your mail as described in the privacy policy. For your recipients' and form submitters' personal data, you're the controller and we're your processor — you must have a lawful basis for the sending you do through us.
Availability
We run on serious infrastructure (Cloudflare and AWS — see security) and publish status at postboi.email/status, but pre-1.0 Postboi comes with no uptime SLA. The service is provided "as is" and "as available".
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill), and our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (or £50 if you're on the free plan). Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't lawfully be limited — fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending things
You can delete your account (and its data, per the privacy policy) at any time from the dashboard. We can suspend or terminate accounts for breach of these terms, prolonged non-payment, or where required legally. If we ever discontinue the service, we'll give paying customers at least 30 days' notice.
Changes
We'll update these terms as the product grows. Material changes will be noted here with a new date above, and — for changes that affect paying customers — announced by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Postboi after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales. Questions? support@postboi.email.
